Took a trip and ended with a slight pin chip in the front glass. I contacted Safelite for repair and going to the site all I found under Tesla was S and X, so I called them directly. The first person I spoke with stated they will NOT work on Teslas anymore, period. I asked for a referral and she laughed so now I'm here. I'm located in the Oakland/Berkeley, CA area and am in search of a window crack repair specialist. I'm looking for suggestions from those who have been down this path. I did a search for the topic on this forum and none popped up. Thank you for any input.

I am not in California but here's my experience. I used Safelite and just selected Model S. Had an appointment next morning ($20 more they come to you) but its 3 miles away so drove there. Guy said yeah don't worry about Model S thing.

Looked at the tiny pinsized crack and said, its surface only, super tiny, they don't recommend doing anything. Said it won't spread.
I asked what if it does, he said, get a new windshield. It's free in my State, but he didn't think I should now.

Can't argue with honesty and they didn't want any money.

And 2 weeks later, I don't see it unless I look for it. I was happy I went there.

I think you got somebody who doesn't know what she is talking about. Safelite just fixed a crack in my glass roof this week. They quoted me on a windshield a few weeks ago. Another forum member just reported he was getting a new windshield through Safelite. I really doubt America's largest auto glass company is going to stop working on Teslas.

Try a Tesla Service Center if you don't have better luck with another Safelite branch.

Safelite also fixed a chip in my window a month or so ago. Did an amazing job don't even notice the repair. Just go on their website and book. The website gave me the option to choose my Tesla.
