I am wondering what happens to the value of EV's, both used and as trade-ins, if a gov't incentive (either tax credit or rebate) is removed. Would the value increase by the amount of the missing incentive or some fraction of that? What do you think.

For Teslas, I would assume that there would be no price changes on new ones. Demand continues to outstrip supply even after the incentives disappear. That would cause used values to rise.

For GM (Volt and Bolt), losing incentives will cause demand to drop a lot. GM will have to lower prices on new ones to compensate. Used prices will probably therefore not be affected much.

This is all IMHO.

I agree GM would see a drop in demand but if they don't adjust their price I could see used EV prices rising. At least I hope so.
I'm counting on the sizable Ontario rebate when I get the Model 3 in about a year. If the rebate is removed then I'm hoping to get a little more on my trade-in to compensate. Wishful thinking perhaps.
