You have to slightly overexpose in diffuse rather than reflected light. In other words, direct sun creates blown highlights in areas of reflection off the paint. The rest of it tends to be typically underexposed and too dark due to the metering trying to compensate for your blown highlights, so a cloudy day, with slight overexposure to bring out Contours of the Body Work / paint.
@Dfwatt,

On point!;)

Thanks! I forgot to add that another option if you have postprocessing capability, you can also go in and simply reduce contrast and knock down some of the blown highlights a little bit, but taking out contrast more than minimally tends to create photos that people experience as rather bland and lacking in 'pop'. It's definitely tough to shoot a black car in sunlight in any case and have an appealing level of exposure of all the black body panels.

I liked the Abstract Ocean front door pocket lights from my above post so much I ordered a second set with the intention of modifying them to fit on the rear door pockets. As the underneath of the rear armrests are curved where the led light is I had to modify the flat colored lens to fit. I removed the original 3M tape and used a heat gun on the work bench to heat the plastic lens just to the point of being able to bend it slightly by hand. I used to much heat on the first attempt and damaged it beyond repair. The second one turned out perfect and fit the curve over the light great. I then added tape and installled.

AO sells these in Blue, Red and Purple. Here are some pics:

Got enough complaints (mainly from taller passengers) about being able to feel the heat from the sun on their heads coming through the glass roof so I bought the generic branded sunshades off Amazon. After the first couple of days of use I'd say it has reduced the heat I feel on my head by about 40-50%. Note: The rear windshield is already tinted with 35% ceramic tint but I still got complaints from passengers during longer drives.

What did I do *today*? Absolutely nothing. Didn't hug it, didn't look in on it sleeping in the garage,, etc. Just totally ignored it all weekend.

Plan to drive it Tuesday and Thursday this week..

After living with a loose trim end on the gear shift leaver since taking delivery 14 months ago:

....I gently pried it off, removed the (cheap) OEM two sided adhesive, used "Goop" (applied only in areas where OEM tape had been stuck) and now it's (finally) tight (photo above is after re-work).

Thanks Mike! Just did mine as well. Don’t know if it’s still an issue but it was a year ago. Removed it, cleaned off the crappy stock tape and used a .025” thick piece of 3M VHB tape. Same stuff I used to install the CF dash cap.

can you share ebay link for the center console? how much did you pay? Looks very good
That's from the Shadowcraft guy that almost everyone has said is not a scammer but is so horrible for getting back to you and getting you what you bought that it seems he is. There's a whole thread that's 6 pages long about this business and their inability to deliver on time.

I purchased the console for $500. As you'll note in the other thread, it is not recommended to do business with the guy due to the constant delays. It took a total of 3 months to get my set. If that's your cup of tea, here's what I believe is the website: https://chicagocompositesmfg.com/

Proceed at your own risk. I ultimately got my set but I did have to constantly ask for updates.
