Sorry if this is a duplicate thread but I wanted to know the follwoing:

What comes with the car when you pick it up?

Is anything I need to order separately?.

I placed my order last Thursday and am getting excited! Midnight Silver with Aero Wheels.

Depending on what type of smartphones you have in the house, you might want to order a second USB cable for either Lightning (Apple) or USB-C or Micro-B (Android). You're given one Lightning and one Micro-B.

Also, if you haven't already you'll either want to have a 240V NEMA 14-50 box installed so you can plug in the included mobile charger, or buy ($500) and install a high power wall charger.

It comes with a Mobile Connector for charging and adapters for a NEMA 5-15 (standard 120V outlet) and a NEMA 14-50 (240V) outlets. If you are planning on using a different type of outlet then you will need to purchase the adapter.

It also includes a J1772 public charging adapter as well.

Technically speaking the car has everything you need. At “home” you need to bring the charging source that’s appropriate for your daily range.

Beyond the car, when I picked it up I got:
  • One Apple lightning and one USB-C plug in the phone dock
  • Two Tesla keycards
  • Model 3 silver license plate holder
  • Velcro bag with the Tesla Mobile charger and a bunch of plug adapters
  • SAE J1772 to Tesla Plug adapter
I didn't need to buy anything aftermarket for it. I'm told that if you ask them to swap out the phone dock plugs when you pick up the car, they will do it for free but I was in a daze when I picked my car up and I didn't remember to ask.

  • We ordered and received the all-weather frunk and trunk mats; once Tesla offers interior mats we'll order those as well.
  • We ordered and received the model 3 center caps kit, which are dark grey; we plan to look for silver (model S) caps at a reasonable price as well (first ask: service center at delivery). The silver will match our silver 18" T-Sportlines better.
  • We plan to get a second USB-C cable; we are an Android household.
  • My dad ordered and is awaiting a Model S/X/3 SAE J1772 Charging Adapter for us as a gift. Our wall connector is Bosch, so we'll want to leave an adapter at home with that but also have one in the bag for on-the-go charging. The model 3 comes with one, so we just need the one spare. Thanks Dad!

Slightly tangential, but does anyone know if the SCs stock charging adapters, or accept returns from the online store? My electrician is pretty sure he'll be installing a 6-50 outlet (two weeks after taking delivery! :(), but that plan could go out the window once he arrives and takes a look at my wiring. I thought I could just buy a few adapters online and return the ones I don't need, but Tesla will charge me for the return shipping ...

I don't know the answer to your question except that the online store is annoying to deal with on returns for clothing. But I don't know about non-clothing items.

Can you make do with standard home 15A 120V charging or maybe occassional Supercharging until the work gets done? You can charge at approximately 4 miles an hour on a 15A 120V (so 32 miles range is ~8 hours), and if a Supercharger isn't too far away, then you can use that to take it all the way up pretty quickly.

We took delivery of our Model 3 last week but there was no scale model included with it. (I waited in line on March 31, 2016 for four hours, so I should have gotten one.) Since the car was delivered by truck, there was nobody from Tesla to ask about it. I wrote to my Delivery Specialist the next day and got this reply:

We are out of the Model 3 replicas I am sorry. They should have either made more or not offered them cause so many people are not receiving them.

Since I took delivery in Maryland, it included the compressor with patch goo kit. (Apparently MD requires this if you don't get a spare.) Nice bonus, though I have to get state inspection on my own since I am not in MD. This plus UMC and adapters in the frunk. Then I added emergency jack, tire wrench, plug kit, detail spray and plenty of rags.
