We are picking up our Model 3 on Wednesday afternoon. Silver with Aero wheels. I though it was amusing when we configured the car there was a page for the interior color, but only once color to choose from, Black. We are very excited to get the car.

My question is what accessories come with the car?

I have read here there is a set of charger cables/connections, but not sure about things like cell phone cables.

What is included with the car? What do I need to purchase?

Thanks!

Charging cable with NEMA 14-50 and standard 110 volt adapters are included. One lightning cable and one USB-C cable are included based on previous reports in this forum. Other cable types have to be purchased or can be traded with others in this forum.

Are NEMA 14-50 changing cables included? or is just an adapter included?

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, the car comes with everything included in this bundle:
https://shop.tesla.com/us/en/produc...odel-s_x_3-gen-2-mobile-connector-bundle.html

You attach whichever adapter you want to use (NEMA 14-50, standard 110V household outlet, etc.) to the inlet of the Mobile Connector and plug it into the wall. Then you plug the other end of the Mobile Connector into the car.

Welcome to the forum!

For cell phone cables, by default the car includes one lightning cable (for Apple devices) and one USB-C cable (for newer Android devices). Tesla also offers a Micro USB cable through their store for other Android devices.

Some people here have found success requesting other cable combinations (e.g. two lightning cables, two USB-C cables, etc.) from their delivery specialist in advance of delivery, so I'd contact your DS ASAP to see if they can make it happen prior to Wednesday.

Otherwise, there are a few cable swap threads around here. Or, as a last resort, you could order additional cables from Tesla directly.

Thanks Bokonon! I was confused, because I went to one of the local Tesla Stores and was told by an employee that no NEMA 14-50 charger/cables were included with the car. Just to be clear, NEMA 14-50 is the same as 240 or a lever 2 charger, right???

NEMA 14-50 is the wall outlet (generally ran from a 50A 240V breaker, sometimes a 40A). The cable that comes with the car has the adaptor for that outlet and for a typical 110V household outlet (with others available for purchase).
to generalize, a Level2 is any using 240V service (with a range of amps), Level1 would be those powered by 110V service, and Level3 or DCFC would be those providing DC power instead of AC and bypassing the car's onboard charger.

That sounds like a strange case of a misinformed employee...

NEMA 14-50 refers to one type of 240-volt outlet, typically used for RVs, electric ranges, other high-power applications. It looks like this:

"Charging at level 2" means connecting your car to a 240-volt A/C power source, whether it's a NEMA 14-50 outlet (via the Mobile Connector included with your Model 3), a hardwired Tesla Wall Connector, or a public charging station. Level 2 charging is both faster and more energy-efficient than charging at standard household voltage and current, so it's the recommended way of recharging a car battery as big as the Model 3's. You can find more details on Tesla's home charging installation page.

ETA: Basically, what Melinda said in fewer words. :)

Wait so if I have a dryer outlet at home with 240v. I can charge faster just by using the same charger that’s supplied with the car?
Yes and No o_O

Yes you can charge faster, but not with the INCLUDED adapters.

Your dryer plug is likely a NEMA 14-30, so you would need to purchase the 14-30 adapter ($35) to make things work. At that amperage Tesla says you'll see 22-miles of range per hour. ;)

Adapters available here:

So I ordered the Gen 2 Mobile Connector Bundle $300 in anticipation of my delivery date on March 30. Does that mean I did not need to buy this?
All model 3s come with one of those.

Some people buy a second one so that they can keep one in the car, and keep the other one plugged into an outlet in the garage.

All new Model 3's I've seen come with a complete set of mats. 2 in front and one across the width of the Floor in back. They aren't super heavy duty, but they were there. They ship in the trunk in a bag.
