I saw that article too.

Yes, this is pretty much an ideal situation for using an electric truck.
Reminds me of the big electric dump trucks used for mining.
They never have to be recharged - they go uphill empty, then regenerate what they need as they go downhill with a full load.

The battery just needs enough space to be able to Regen all the way down. I believe the old electric retarders added heat to the frame rails. Might work in a Tesla as well. Logging roads are much, much steeper than highways. Maybe a tridem will have six motors!!!

I saw an article today that talked about use a mash up of a conveyor belt and a ski lift to get ore down the side of mountains. They are using regen power like the brakes in an EV to power the device. Dang that's clever.
