If you're a Day 1 reservation holder *in California*, can you please go to your My Tesla page, click on "Manage" beside the image of your Model 3 and copy and paste the paragraph under "What's Next"?

Or, confirm that it is or isn't exactly the same as this:

Your Model 3 was reserved on 3/31/2016. Production is planned to begin in 2017. You'll be invited to configure based on the date of your reservation. If you have any questions, please refer to our FAQ. We invite you to submit suggestions or feedback within our forums. Engage with other future owners to share your excitement or ideas. To withdraw your reservation, you may request a cancellation.
Thank you.

For my own curiosity, may I ask what you're trying to uncover? You certainly have me curious here.

Nothing really, just trying to confirm/refute what someone told me on some article comment.

I've maintained for a long time that - despite 99% of authors, commentors, and general folk saying otherwise - deliveries in Canada will start at the same time as the USA "West Coast", with the obvious exception of the first batch going to California based Tesla/SpaceX employees. Tesla themselves have always had the following posted to their Model 3 FAQ page:

Once production begins, we will begin deliveries in North America starting on the West Coast, moving east. As we continue to ramp production, we will begin deliveries in Europe, APAC and right-hand drive markets.
North America" - by every definition of the word - includes Canada. If they meant "USA" - as just about EVERYONE maintains - why not simply say that? Anyway, one person asked me what my "My Tesla" page said, and when I posted the above they said that was the difference... that USA (or at least California) customers have it worded differently and it implies Canada will be later. I wanted to see if that was true or not. I expect it is the same wording for everyone.

Actually, I wouldn't mind if a few other people posted theirs, even if they aren't Day 1 and/or not California. If there are differences based on when/where then it might prove interesting. I figure it is the same for everyone, since the wording is relatively generic. It doesn't, after all, say that "my" Tesla specifically will be produced in 2017.

Very interesting. I'm day 1 from Florida and have the exact same verbiage as yours.

You know I assumed USA first before Canada. I'm not sure why. It does clearly say North America.

You're not the only one! TrevP and others always state it like foregone fact... but other than "common sense", I've never really understood the reasoning behind assuming something completely contrary to what is clearly stated.

Thanks for confirming your verbiage.

Ok now I need to apologize. It used to say the same as yours. Now I see what @PeteSJCA posted verbatim.

Then Canada is getting the shaft, it seems... if even Florida reservists will get them before West of Canada.

As whiny as this may sound... that makes Tesla/Elon either a liar or geographically ignorant beyond excuse.

Then again, it is possible its just a matter that they changed the wording and neglected to update the EN_CA text file.

Heads up: you posted a cancellation link that is tied to your reservation number.

EDIT: actually, @Steven you did it too.
It really doesn't matter. Or... if it did/does, Tesla would have a major security breach.
All related posts edited.
Have a nice evening, folks!

Thanks.

But I'm certain unnecessary. I clicked on Pete's link which took me to a log in page. I don't have Pete's login, so I used mine. From there, I was able to cancel mine... not Pete's... as expected. I really don't see the risk.

But I guess on the "better safe than sorry" front... thanks.

Indeed, Steven, that's why I did it; did not have the energy to check for myself.
Are you saying you actually cancelled your reservation because of this (admittedly, regrettable) geographical glitch?

Lol no, of course not. Although, I was willing to take the slight risk (that simply clicking the link would delete my reservation without "are you sure") because I have two reservations down and I'm probably not keeping the 2nd so it really wouldn't have mattered.

Honestly, the delayed entry into Canada only matters to me because of that 2nd reservation. I want AWD, and we already know that's delayed anyway. if it somehow is available to me in July, I'll take one on speculation* and the 2nd as an AWD. I'm more just frustrated that they would say "North America" and NEVER CHANGE THAT, yet it is universally accepted that - in this case - they mean "USA".

* by "speculation", I don't mean to flip it for a profit. I doubt that's really a possibility anyway. I design aftermarket car parts for a living and I was excited by the prospects the 3 will bring. However, if I'm 6 to 9 months late to the game... there's really no point in a world where first to market is almost everything.

I hear you... that's too bad... just like when people forget Mexico is also in North America!!
Makes me think, when do they get their cars? :D

(..) there are NO stores, NO service centers and in fact NO superchargers *even planned* on the West coast of Mexico, hmm...
That is odd... How about in the rest of the country, Steven?
