Hi Lads,

Watched the following video:

They took a trip from Toronto to Ottawa, ( 1000km ) and seemed to suffer because of slow chargers.

Is this a realistic take on the current spread of chargers or are there top-gear style shenanigans going on here?

Just curious.

edit: 18 high power chargers (including tesla) on route according to plugshare between toronto & ottowa. Cork - Belfast, a similar round trip distance in ireland has 146 so there must be a nugget of truth.

While Tesla makes an attempt to locate superchargers along popular travel corridors to facilitate road trips, no other company has been this forward-thinking. And a Hyundai cannot make use of Tesla's supercharger network. Furthermore, current non-Tesla "high power" chargers are not nearly as high-power as Tesla Superchargers. Therefore, I find their results very plausible.

Teslas are the only EVs that I would even consider taking on a long road trip today. And even then, it will still be less convenient than taking a combustion vehicle.
