I'm expecting to have to shell out extra for it. IIRC, in Model S or X, one pays for PUP, then one pays for color other than black.
On Model S premium cream, black and white are all $3,300.

Classic black is $3,200.

Multi-pattern black is free.

So if that's hold true, then my guess is that buying the premium upgrade will allow you to pick any color you want once it's available.

Without it you're looking at black textile seats only...

the Model S PUP does not include the upgraded upholstery, so until we see what they do with the other colors, don't assume it'll not cost extra ;)

Well of course. You know what happens when you assume...

The only thing I have to go on is that black, cream, and white cost the "same" on the S. Conventional wisdom would suggest the same holds true for Model 3.

That said Tesla doesn't always follow conventional wisdom ;)

I sure hope the seat color options are bundled into the premium package coz this car is getting way too expensive! Btw I'm going for cream. Hopefully it becomes available in time for my configuration.

That would be only normal considering current practices in the entry luxury segment...

I think the safest thing to do is to always assume something from Tesla is going to cost extra, because:
  1. It often does...after all, they are here to make money, and
  2. If it doesn't, you'll be pleasantly surprised :)
