Just to close the loop — Johnny never shipped the dash and I’ve been sitting on the center console with no instructions for a while. I disputed the charge and got my money back and I’m shipping the center console back. I have never experienced anything like this ...

He’s either the most unlucky person or a complete liar, but since ordering...

He’s had 3 deaths in the family
His GF totaled a car and was injured
His shop was forced to relocate
And he had some other emergencies
Wow, exactly my experience. I made 2 payments back in March for lots of things. I did a chargeback on my second payment after almost 90 days and I'm now going to get my other payment back before 120. It was for seat backs which I want so badly that I've waited this long. Why oh why can't anyone make carbon fiber seat backs??!

I do not own a tesla but have had a nightmare of a situation with him. long story short I gave him fiberglass parts to my lexus to have CF covered. I gave it to him in Nov but took until feb to start because his partner left due to his business practices. He offered to do it for free due to all the trouble. hes been coming up excuse after excuse why its not done. when i ask for my parts back he refuses to give them back or give the address of his new location. He replies like 1 time a week or 2. He gets my hopes up like its actually going to get done then goes MIA. for those who returned their pieces back to him can you tell me the address you sent it to? I saw that someone disputed a charge with paypal and it put his account on hold. if thats true im thinking about buying cheap part with paypal then disputing the charge and forcing him to finish the parts.
his excuses
2 funerals of out of state the weekend i was suppose to pick it up
give me 10 days
give me 2 days
i will be in MN so ill bring it to you
truck broke down
need 2 days 6 hrs to finish
no replies for 2 weeks

Doubt this helps but when I reached out to him for some work as a new customer he responded instantly with this email info:

Sales
Chicago Composites & Manufacturing LLC
312-600-4723
Www.chicagocompositesmfg.com
That's the only way he replies is when I use a different IG account or email he replies then I tell him to message me. He does gives me more bullshit that it will get done that stops replying

I paid for the seat backs 20 March. I finally put the dispute in to my bank since they said, beyond 120 days they won't do anything. Meanwhile, after telling him this he says, oh I got them in the shop, just need to polish them.. I said ship by today or we're done. Fkn sad. Meanwhile, for all you carbon fiber lovers. I've been contacting Chinese places. Got a matte carbon fiber front spoiler lip already on the way. Matte cf seems to be hard to find and I need it to match my OEM performance rear spoiler. Total price shipped $360

Absolutely. I got a good deal, looks like they upped the price a bit, but maybe can barter some.

I have to say, thank you all for posting your experience with Chicago Composites.

I thought for sure I was either going crazy or I had been taken given the excuses, delays and outright confusion TRYING to work with Johnny.

In the end, I gave up and disputed the charge on my card. I was bummed, I really love his product(s) and wanted it to work.
Hey man I’m sorry to find out you are one of the people on the receiving get end of Johnnys bullshit. I worked with him for a few months an in the end got screwed over like everyone else’s seems to that deals with him. I was Working with him for most of the first half of the year. I was running production and making the parts while he was supposed to be “securing work” for us. I. Any tell you how many times he would say he got paid for this job or another but yet we’ve still got the same parts sitting there for months. It makes me sad because when he tries to be an make good stuff but Unfortunately he did not share my passion of creating. His only passion seems to be taking money from people. Myself included. I wish things would have worked out differently. The city currently has open investigations into his business right now. Hopefully he can be stopped and not keep screwing people over. I saw it firsthand. He is capable of making quality stuff, he just doesn’t try. I’d recommend that no one does any business with him at all but if you really want to just make sure you protect yourself and holds him to his deadlines. Anyone that has any questions for me or wants to talk about this feel free to message me.

Do you have the ability to make model 3 seat backs? If so, you'd make good money, cause I'm sure there are plenty potential buyers, just no where to get them. Chinese companies just need the 3d data, but I have no idea how to obtain that or I'd have the seat backs by now. I got all my money back from the orders I made from chicagocompositesmfg.com, but super disappointed, because I want them seat backs!

Sorry to hear of all the issues everyone has gone through. I feel so fortunate that after two months beyond the initial due date he sent me the center console parts. Just like everyone said it was excuse after excuse. I had lost hope and was going to file a dispute when this showed up. The parts do look amazing but I would not deal with the headache of repeated requests for status updates.

Now I need to figure out how to remove the console parts and replace them with these. Hope to get this done within the next month.

I’m sure at some point someone else will pickup this project and be able to produce quality carbon fiber replacement parts for the masses.

Closing the loop on my console. Got a chance to install the console replacement parts. It was a very difficult DIY for me as there were no instructions on how to remove the console and replace them with these parts but I managed. Took a total of 5 hours by myself. I installed PPF over the parts to better protect them from scratches. Overall, the replacement parts are of excellent quality, near OEM fitment and finish. Customer experience however is consistent with what everyone else experienced. The carbon fiber sticker covers do not come close to how this looks finished. However, they are a good alternative due to the limited availability of these items and that’s what I previously had before installing these replacement parts.

Here are the finished photos. Let me know if there are any questions I can help answer.

It baffles me as to why no one takes the demand for this product and makes a killing on selling it. If I could get the 3d data, Autocad info on anything, like seat backs, I can send it to China and have it made and received in about 30 days. If anyone has any idea how to create 3d data on stuff let me know. 😜. So frustrating.

How's the finish & fitment overall? Any close up side or vent views? Screws or just 3M tape install?

I ordered the same (Gloss CF) JCsportline piece, Part #ML-HZJ003 direct from the company on FB.

Got it yesterday, total cost of about $405 but it has a couple small flaws...tying to see what kind of refund or deal I can get from this all...waited about a month and kinda disappointed it's not mint. :(

I don't notice anything negative as far as finish. I'd say it's not a perfect fit, but close enough and I'm pretty OCD. Also, mine is Matte to match the OEM rear spoiler. I also got those fog light "browse". They don't lay flat, because of the front spoiler, but, what do you think?

Good to hear, also might be that the matte finish hides any weave defects a bit better than the gloss 3D.

Never seen those fog light pieces before... Interesting. The side view I was asking about was if the lip goes all the way to the fender edge? Looks like a little short in the above like mine was during a quick test fit.

So tape install only or did you get screws too? Mine came with 6 but nothing is pre-drilled so not sure if or where I would use them.

I only used the strongest 3m double sided tape. It's not going anywhere.
Yes, one side or the other will come up short. You can probably push it a bit harder to even it up, but it's not very noticeable in the grand scheme of things. I used a lot of isopropyl alcohol sprayed on to give myself enough wiggle to properly set it. And another person helps.
