Upgrade means something gets better in something it does (or it does something extra).
"Puddle light" should light up a puddle (or whatever occupant might step in) - primary mission.
If the light is about fancy stuff (a logo) with really bad puddle illumination, we shall not call it that.

I agree, puddle lights are awesome. My 5-series has those and they do actually help.
But not weird logos that do not actually illuminate anything. Excessive bling is excessive.

Some cars already come with this standard so I don’t think it’s a far stretch especially if it’s the same white light and can still light up the puddle. I do agree this is not an upgrade I would do at the sacrifice of being able to see a puddle before I step into it :)
