HP Wall Connector. Outside connected to a 60A breaker configured for 50A. The model 3 pulls 48A the X pulls 50A. Charge rate 44~46mph for the 3. The X gets 32~34. The HPWC has been outside just over a year.

14-50 installed before the car arrived. Excellent charging at about 29mph, 32amps. Perfectly fine for our needs. Charge for local driving most of the time. Occasionally will pick up some juice at an organization on whose Board I serve when I’m there for 3 or 4 hours. Convenient and free. Use Superchargers when I travel.

AeroVironment (now called “Webasto”) EVSE purchased in 2012 when I bought our 2012 Nissan LEAF, is my primary charging station for the LEAF and my Model 3 using the J1772 adapter. Works very well at about 32amps for the Tesla. 7E9FDA62-78BC-4D6B-9AE9-CCA80F8F626C.jpeg 341CDAB2-0F4C-47EC-BA6A-5C8237810CC9.jpeg 7E9FDA62-78BC-4D6B-9AE9-CCA80F8F626C.jpeg 341CDAB2-0F4C-47EC-BA6A-5C8237810CC9.jpeg

I selected UMC 14-50 - 240v/50amp, but should caveat that with my actual charging is done at 208v/32amps given the voltage limits coming into our condo and the gen 2 UMC limit of 32amps. Our 3 gets 24mi/hr and the S gets 19mi/hr. 99% of charging is done here, the S uses superchargers for road trips when needed given we have free unlimited supercharging.

We live in an apartment building in Brooklyn and our garage management (in the building next door) won't let us install a charger so we use the urban supercharger. Luckily it's only 2minutes away. I should also say that the car is primarily a weekend car, we commute by subway, so we only have to charge about once every two weeks.

I use the "Wall Connector w/ pig tail", as I was able to grab one from the Tesla store when they were briefly on sale earlier this year, in my NEMA 14-50 outlet. Prior to that I used the "UMC : 14-50 - 240V / 50 A", with a second UMC, so that I could leave it plugged in all the time, and still have one in the car.

My High Performance Wall Connector was delivered before my Model 3, so I was able to have it wired up and waiting when the car arrived. 50A breaker, Romex 6/2, and set the WC to 40A for a safe margin. My next project is to get on VTOU service and to set my charging to start at 11:30pm.

It's now been a month since National Greed accepted my application for VTOU Service. After 2 weeks I was told they were out of that type of meter. A week later I was told they were bringing some in from another State and after adjusting them, those of us on the waiting list would get one installed. Still waiting...
