THE Thread to check into for any:
  • meetups
  • photo ops
  • local-road-specific autopilot glitches
  • good destination charging spots
  • bad destination charging spots
  • you name it!

I'm checking in from Berks county, and reserved on 3/31 at the Devon service center/store.

Darn. So close ... yet too far, I fear. I'm in Sussex County, Delaware ... the southern of the 3 Delaware counties, in Lewes, at the shore. I'll most likely be picking up my Model 3 from the Devon PA. Service Center/Store.

I saw a thread on front mounted license plates and since PA is a non front license plate region (thank goodness) does Tesla still put one on before/after delivery, or have anything mounted on the front in any way?

They shouldn't. I didn't see any S or Xs with empty plate brackets (or screw holes) on the front.

My wife and I test drove an S (75 I think?) about 6 months ago. It was a good experience but we already knew we couldn't afford it going in so it was more of a teaser for our Model 3. The test drive (from King of Prussia) was also a lot shorter than I would have liked!

That's the boat I'm in. A new S is out of range, but a CPO one can fit. I'm just not sure I can talk my wife into spending money like that on a used car. As it is i'm going to have to do some work for a first production 3 haha

That's exactly where I test drove an S, except it was a ludicrous model.
The drive was definitely too short, but trying ludicrous mode was well worth it, and when I floored it and my wife's cel phone flew back I started cursing like everyone in every youtube video, holy %*&@*%, (laughing), almost shed a tear :) The Tesla rep in the back seat just smiled like "Yep, I've seen this before" lol

I haven't told my wife how much the payments will be yet, lol. But as was discussed here:
https://teslaownersonline.com/threa...oking-at-financing-yet.4680/page-2#post-39675
stretching the loan term longer than 5 years makes a big difference in size of payments and not much of a difference in amount of interest paid over the life of the loan.

The cheapest CPO model S cars are either all gone or hard to catch before someone snatches them up and even though I'm not purchasing EAP or FSD right away, I want those things eventually. Any CPO that would be close to even the 50k I'm looking at for the model 3 (first production, MSM paint) likely won't have AP1 and on the rare chance it does it won't have AP2 or the ability to put it on the ride sharing network. If you factor in not getting the tax credit on the CPO then you have to find a model S less than the Model 3 config you want to break even.

Just found this thread. My guesstimate is that was about 40th or so in line at KOP.

I'm living (and soon charging) in the Lehigh Valley...Im workin out of KOP, so much closer to our shared service center in Devon.
I've been invited multiple times to test drive the S or X. I continue to refuse.
Maybe it's flawed logic but I want my first experience in a Tesla to be in the 3...in a way i guess I'm saving myself.

I recently received an email from Tesla (other invites came from either KOP or Devon)...called it a "Showcase event for the Mid-Atlantic". The email asked me to RSVP, I actually thought it could have been for the 3!!! But alas, it was nothing more than another invite to schedule a test drive for the S or X.

One of the guys in Devon did expect to get a 3 for test drives, no idea when but said he'd reach out when he knows more.

I don't count technically, but I'll invite myself in here. Reserved my Model 3 on 3/31 online before unveil. Living in Cumberland County (PA) - outside Mechanicsburg, PA. I first test drove a Model S (75D) in Hershey the week autopilot came out; was an interesting experience... Then I test drove a P90D later in Carlisle, and most recently an associates 2014 Model S 85. Each test drive was fun and unique; I still haven't had the chance to try a Model X yet, unfortunately.

Planning on getting a first production run Model 3 - initial estimated window is December 2017 to Feb 2018. Originally I wanted to get an AWD model, or performance model, but with the federal tax rebate getting closer to phasing out - I'd rather take advantage of the "free money" to help subsidize the cost of the car a little.
