At this point, Ottawa owners rely on the Montreal store and service centre. I was told that a technician is on call in Ottawa. There is no SuperCharger here. Hoping there will be more local support by summer 2018. We obviously need AWD, cold package and winter tires to survive our winters.

I'm hoping we get an Ottawa service centre at minimum by launch as I'm a fair bit closer to Ottawa then Toronto. I imagine Kingston will eventually get one but probably not for awhile. We do have superchargers though.

I was looking at the Supercharger map and it shows a supercharger downtown Ottawa opening end of 2017. One can always hope!

all of the future locations are pinned to that city's city center. So it probably will be somewhere in the city limits, but not specifically where the pin shows ;)

Ottawa SC is great for tourists but not so much for owners since we mainly charge at home. Service Centre and Showroom is what's needed.

I'm concerned that if we pick up our Tesla's at the Montreal store we may not be eligible for the Ontario rebates. Do you think we will have to go to the Toronto stores?

Good question. I'm assuming that, since we are ordering online in Ontario, it will be deemed to be an Ontario purchase. I will follow up and post whatever information I can get.

I have carefully examined all relevant information on the MTO web site. It seems very clear that the primary requirement is for the car to be registered and plated first in Ontario. Check the web site at:

http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/...tFileAttach/023-2096E~3/$File/2096E_Guide.pdf

This section is interesting: "New BEVs and PHEVs that are purchased or leased outside of Ontario and imported into the province by the original owner/lessee are eligible for an incentive provided they meet all program criteria and were not plated and registered in any other jurisdiction prior to being plated and registered in Ontario."

By buying online in Ontario, we will pay Ontario sales tax.
If you are picking up the Model 3 in Montreal, get the VIN of the car then register and obtain plates for the car in Ontario and bring them to Montreal so they can be attached. I'm only attaching the rear plate and keeping the front plate on the dash until I purchase a front plate mounting bracket from EVannex (it attaches without drilling holes in the fascia or bumper.)

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for checking on this. Of course a little trip to The Big Smoke to pick up my Tesla wouldn't exactly be a chore :)

The Ottawa supercharger is actually in the Rideau Centre parking structure so you need to pay for parking to use it ($3 an hour). I haven't seen it myself but I heard that it is one of the newer "urban superchargers" so it outputs 72kw max.

News tidbits after my visit to Tesla Montreal today:
1. Apparently, LOTS of Model 3 orders coming from Ottawa. Tesla is considering opening a delivery hub there.
2. Permanent Ranger based in Ottawa coming this year.
3. Both Store and Service Center in Ottawa still “looking good” but “no decision yet.”
File these under Rumours but sales staff seemed quite confident.
Red Model 3 with 19” Sport Wheel is gorgeous. Lineup quite short - ~10 people at a time - but there was a 2-minute limit to sit in the car.

That would be awesome to have service centre in Ottawa or at least delivery hub to avoid driving to Montreal. Although, I won't mind that 2 hour back in a brand new model 3!

I only reserved on October 6th, 2017 and received invitation to configure on April 26th and ordered same day. Looks like many canadian reservation holders are deferring to standard range or AWD models. Good for me, thank you!!!

I had to defer until next year so you're welcome :).

Thanks for the update Rick59!

I have less than 4 weeks to "wait and see" where I need to pick up mine.... Montreal? Toronto? Ottawa hub? home delivery?

At least I ordered the wall connector over the weekend, hoping that I receive/install it before my new toy shows up!

Also agree: we need a store in Ottawa...sooner rather than later!

Just joined M3OC after receiving my invitation. I'm deferring to the standard model. Many thanks for all of the informative posts. Hopefully Ottawa sales will translate into local service centre.

Ottawa Tesla Owners: now that most of us have received our 3, I would like to suggest an informal “Show and Tell” or “Meet and Greet” on Tuesday, June 19th with Thursday, June 21st as a rain date if the 19th is bad.
I suggest the southwest corner of the parking lot at the Place d’Orleans Shopping Centre, behind the new Royal Bank building.
We could show up between 6:30 p.m, and 8:00 p.m. Bring your S, X or 3. Invite as many people as you can. It’s an opportunity to show reservation holders, the interested but not yet committed, the curious and even the nay-sayers. Allowing people to sit in your car is totally your call.
I’m assuming (maybe a bad thing to do) that we don’t need permission since we’re not collecting money and it’s just “a bunch of friends” getting together. If we get tossed out, we’ll have a fun convoy along St. Joseph Blvd.
I will confirm that it’s a “go” once at least 8 others owners have committed. My X and my wife’s 3 will be there.
Reply soonest.

Just picked up our Model 3 from detailing: GTechniq Crysral Serum (7-year guarantee) and 3M Scotchguard Pro (10-year guarantee). Like my X, this one is spectacular. Impeccable work by someone who really knows his stuff and cares about your car. Highly recommended: Luxus Auto Detailing, 1455 Youville Dr., Orleans, 613-883-5095. Price depends on the products you select. You can see it live at our meet-and-greet on Tuesday, June 19, 6:30 - 8:00 at Place d’Orleans parking lot, behind the new RBC building.
