Just saw this retweeted by the T≡SLA Owners Club BE (Belgium)... it is in French which some of you may understand...

For the others, key takeaways:

- BMW, Daimler, Ford, Audi & Porsche just signed an memorandum of understanding to co-found a joint company aimed at building an EU network of 400 fast charging stations across the continent by 2020
- construction to start as of 2017
- these would use the CCS standard and would be accessible for all compatible BEV & hybrids, short of using adaptors

Merci beaucoup @Michael Russo !

Audi = VAG = Volkswagen Group (AG = Ltd.) = Volkswagen + Audi + Seat + Škoda + Lamborghini + Bugatti + Bentley + Porsche (cars) + Ducati (motorcycles) + Volkswagen + Scania + MAN (the last 3 trucks) = Largest car producer of Europe and 2nd (or 3rd) worldwide.
Add Daimler = Mercedes, and BMW and Ford and you have the majority of European car producers working
together to create a charging network in 4 years that Tesla already has installed by its own.

They must really be scared!

On second thoughts: Strange that from VAG only Audi and Porsche are listed as participants... Although VAG said earlier that in due time 25 % from all its cars should be electric. Which numbers-wise should include VW, Seat and Skoda.
Or is VAG only aiming for Audi and Porsche BEVs?
Anyone?

Yeah, @MichelT3 , thought the same! It is strange indeed since VAG claim big EV ambitions for their VW brand too (e.g. their I.D. Concept shown at Paris Autoshow last September...). I could imagine that short term there is more money in Audi's & Porsche's drawers than in Volkswagen because of the Dieselgate if this is the way they allocated the loss yet this is only a hypothesis...

Agree. Which is strange, because Dieselgate adheres to the whole VAG concern, not just to VW.

Like I said Corporate Accounting, maybe... Another option could be they just wanted to position their 'mass' upscale brands (no trace of Skoda nor Seat... then again neither of Lamborghini, Bentley or Bugatti... :)) together with BMW and Daimler... oh wait, there's Ford too... :p

Interesting complement to earlier post, on Reddit. Most notable are all the reactions with regards to future plans to have these chargers able to go up to 350kW ... for cars and batteries that can handle as it seems... Anyways, still a good development for the future acceptance thus growth of BEVs! :)

And Elon should be thinking by now
'I've made it! Yes !!!'

Seems to be funny but I dont't understand half of the text...
:)
Get that, amigo, a bit filled with strange language as well as `Star Wars'-related innuendos... ;)
But you get the gist of it when you understand it was intended to say that Elon may have - finally! - awoken the sleeping giant... and wondering whether it might be a bit late...
Though, as I stated in an earlier post, if Daimler has decided to really get serious, they'll get somewhere... even if not necessarily at the expense of T≡SLA!... The more the merrier... ;)

The StarWars innuendos I think I get..
what I don't get is the tik-tiks... and so on...
But nevermind, the main message is that I'm one of the rebels, I choose Han Solo
@Michael Russo is Luke Skywalker
and @TrevP is our Obi-Wan Kenobi
Elon is who ? Anakin Skywalker ?
:)

Thats it !
I took a few seconds and pointed Anakin because I could find a better one... and chose Luke's father.
Thanks @AlexanderFromGermany You nailed it!
Besides, @Gilberto Pe-Curto , if I remember correctly, Anakin turns out to be Darth Vader, no?! That definitely would not have worked... :p
by the way, thanks for linking me to Luke...! Makes me feel young again... :D
