Hi;
This question may have already been answered, but here goes:
We just got a model 3 with standard range. Does this mean that the battery is the same as a medium or long range Model 3, but software limited? If so, it would seem that I am never going to charge it to 100%, even if I charge it to the highest level attainable on the screen.
Thanks in advance
Your battery is smaller than the battery in the Medium and Long Range cars.
BUT, your battery is the same size as is found in the SR Plus cars, but software limited. So when you charge to 100%, it should be equivalent to charging the SR+ battery to about 90%. So as long as you're sure that you have an SR and not actually an SR+, you can feel free to charge to 100% all the time.
Thanks, Garsh, much appreciated. Charging to 80 or 90 percent (except before a road trip) will be my standard operating procedure just to be on the safe side.
