Ok...I ordered on 7/2 (RWD, Long Range, Multi Coat Red, PUP, Aeros) and will be picking up my car in Decatur, GA. I know that was just last week, and that I probably should just wait, but I've seen that some other people that ordered around that time are getting scheduled delivery dates.

The thing is that I'm going to be in Atlanta on 8/3, and I don't get over there very often. I live in Jacksonville, AL and Atlanta is a 2 hour drive for me. That's not a bad drive, but I work in Birmingham, which is an hour and a half drive...the opposite way.

Do you think there would be any use in me calling to see if there's any potential in picking up my card on the 3rd while I'm in town?...or should I just be a good boy and sit on my hands and schedule around whenever they actually do get to me.

I called. Stayed on hold for about an hour. They told me about what I expected though. I haven't been assigned a VIN yet so I also don't have an ISA yet.

He said there's still a chance that I might be able to pick up my car on the 3rd, but there's no way to know for sure until I get a VIN.

I'm not surprised. It was worth calling to ask. I'll just go back to sitting on my hands.

No way. My parents moved there my last year of high school and are still there. I guess I'll have to snoop around the neighborhood when I'm next there to see what house has a model 3 in the driveway :)
LOL...Well, I'm really close to the University library...in case you wanted to narrow down your search window. Can't wait to get mine. Any idea when you might be getting yours? Are you holding out for any specific config? I went with long range since I've got about an 160 mile round trip commute to and from work.

Haha. Narrows it down substantially. My parents are in the subdivision by the Sonic.

RWD Long Range EAP and FSD. Delivery specialist said next weekend. Would've been this weekend, but I couldn't get the credit union to get everything together by Wednesday. I'm one of the lucky ones that ordered blue, that last week of June so they had stock available.

I'm in a similar boat. I just moved to New Hampshire with my fiance but commute once a week into Boston (150 miles each way). Can't wait for autopilot.

FSD was a bit of a gamble, but is honestly the reason I bought the car. When I bought my last car I said my next car would be a self driving one, and then Elon announced FSD on the model 3. I figure if they need a hardware change for it, I'll get it for free because I pre paid, whereas if I waited until it's actually available the price could be jacked way up. Also looking at track record, I feel he does a good job of delivering, if sometimes a few years late.

I'd recommend emailing, not calling your ISA.
If you currently don't have a delivery date, I would expect much. Once the car starts to ship, that's when you will tend to hear from your ISA. It takes a few weeks to get from Freemont to Decatur.

Still don’t have an ISA assigned to me unfortunately.
