So I just spoke with a Tesla salesperson who was following up on a previous inquiry, at the end of the call he asked if there were any other questions I had naturally I asked about the Model 3. I asked if he could tell me what he base price would be in the UK and he said he was pretty sure it would be around the £30,000 mark. I know nothing is official until Tesla announce it but this is what I was aiming for with my finances so I'm quite happy with that.

well hopefully there is still a grant towards that from the government

I would be happy with AWD, 20" wheels and the glass roof for £35k

Elon himself confirmed base will be £30k here in UK. Government grant will most likely not be available by 2018 but would be good if there is. I am hoping AWD, slightly bigger battery and winter package will come in below 40k which is when the road tax surcharge starts to kick in and I would wan't to avoid that. Will also try to avoid larger wheels if possible and no performance version thanks, sub 6 sec 0-60 plenty enough for me.

Fingers crossed the grant is still around or some sort of grant anyway

I couldn't see those three options adding £10k to be honest. Even if you go by model s standard probably 7-8k ish and hopefully the scaling means even less

@Adey yep fingers crossed. Bigger battery can be expensive see MS 70D vs 90D but as you say for M3 the expectation is that option pricing will be scaled down.

Will depend on when you placed your order and how you configure when called upon to do so.

For a top-end configuration UK preorder done morning of 31st March - might be late 2018 to mid 2019 when you get your car.

However, I am hoping Elon will be kind to us and give us our M3s a bit sooner than that but that is just a hope with no basis whatsoever.

if all goes as planned (which for tesla never does) then theyll be pumping out hundreds of thousands a year, shouldn't take as long to reach our shores as the S and X did.
Yes we can only hope. However, I'm also concerned about the £ value in 2 years time - now that the downward slope has started and don't forget that £40k+ road tax punishment the UK government has managed to device for those of us trying to also be kind to the environment by buying a mid priced EV. Also expect the government EV grant to have diminished to almost nothing by then.

Not trying to be all negative but I think those of us here in the UK are not going to be able to enjoy as much as others elsewhere, from our long awaited Model 3 purchase when it finally arrives.

We have our elections coming up in the States, the $ value could change after Nov 4. There is a chance that it could drop depending on who we vote into office
