ordered mine! 9:07pm PST

Not having my roof rack in hand yet, does anyone know how tricky it will be to mount my Thule tandem bike carrier onto this? Wondering what adapters I might need.

I felt the same way, Tom -- given the stocking weirdness. Once I was actually able to place the order, I wasn't entirely confident that it truly went through or that the product didn't sell out again from under me. Receiving the order confirmation helped, but I'm looking forward to getting the shipping confirmation!
After ordering on Monday 2/4, my rack shipped today with scheduled delivery on Monday 2/11. It just got (more) real!

STILL in stock! Ordered!

Just have to convince the spouse that we want it installed. Shouldn’t be too hard during ski season.

Still debating the roof rack or getting the ecohitch installed. We have a nice hitch-mounted bike rack already and that's probably the only use we'd ever have for either the hitch or the roof rack.

They end up costing about the same with installation and all the accessories we'd need to buy. Discounting the cost of the hitch-mounted bike rack we already have.

Wow! Just read the installation instructions and it clips TO THE GLASS!

(I do appreciate that the load is borne by metal)

I do not mean to imply poor engineering at all and I’m sure I’ll get one at one point. But I do find it a little alarmin’!

If you already have the bike rack, then I suggest getting the hitch.
It'll be much easier to load and unload the bikes.

Reference: Owner's Manual

There are metal tabs just under the glass where the rack attaches.
They're mentioned in step 6 of the installation instructions.
So the roof rack is actually clamping onto the metal tabs.
