For the Tesla Referral program that ended on February 3 2019, one of the prizes was a set of wheels for your Tesla. At first, the only available options were S or X wheels, but Tesla added a Model 3 wheel in December 2018.

The app on the phone showed a small picture of the wheel. Most assume that the actual wheel will look like this.
As usual, Tesla was way too optimistic about availability. ;)

Then in October, a new wheel appeared in the Tesla Model 3 parts catalog.

"SVC WHEEL, 20x9.0J SPORT - GUNPOWDER, M3"
It was removed from the catalog the next day.

So, we know a few more pieces of information now:
  • The color is "gunpowder".
  • It's 9.0" wide. All other OEM wheels have been 8.5" wide.
  • It's a 20" diameter wheel (as I'm sure everybody assumed).
The most interesting part here is "SVC".

What is SVC?

I'm not sure. There's a company called Silicon Valley Concepts. They apparently sold aftermarket parts for BMWs, including wheels. But they appear to be out of business now.

Hopefully we'll hear more information soon.

Various incarnations of the roadster (including the grey non-runner at the reveal) have had the 5 split-spoke wheels. I expect the Model 3 referral wheels to look like these.

I am certain of 2 things ....

(1) We won’t see it until 2020
(2) Tesla may not even know what they look like yet

I noticed this 20" Gunpowder wheel is now in the "Service" section of the M3 software...

HOWEVER...

The photo on the software shows that they are only a gunpowder colored version of the standard 20".

There are two new gray wheels.
  • The referral wheels (which may or may not still be gray - I think Tesla is having trouble sourcing these).
  • 20" performance wheels. These have now replaced the silver 20" wheels on performance cars. You can no longer order a performance car with the 20" silver wheels (at least, you cannot order them via the website).
The 20" gray performance wheels have now been added to the parts catalog:

And even though the "SVC" wheel was removed from the parts catalog, it appears that we now have two replacement entries! :D
These wheels are once again 20x9, so they're a half-inch wider than the other OEM wheels.
It looks like they will have two versions: +34 offset for Performance cars, and +40 offset for all other cars.

Does anybody have an educated guess about what a "Zero-G" wheel may look like?

I noticed the Y was sporting regular lugs for the turbines. These wheels I will PAY for! And if you ever met a pilot :airplane:, you know that is a big deal :tearsofjoy:

Count me in! After I put on some black wheels for winter, I'm really digging how they look. Want to swap out the 20" stock silver wheels for gray/black ones now.

I also have earned theses wheels.

I'm hoping that they're Gray in color.
My 18" Tires will not last past this year.
I was hoping to get the referral wheels before replacing tires.

I don't think that will happen.

Any news on the picture to be sent into space referral?

they will emails you with additional instructions following Feb 28, 2019. They didn't specify how soon following Feb 28, 2019 ;). maybe they are waiting for the next needed test payload launch.

for that matter,
Priority Access to Vehicle Software Updates
Access will automatically be granted until December 31, 2020.
not sure what they see as 'priority', but know there have been many releases since the Feb 2019 'awarded' deadline where people with brand new cars (and no referrals or prior reason for a software priority) had a release available for their car days to weeks prior to mine.
