I think we have 2-3 threads that have turned into generic threads about the Model 3 Performance. I'm creating this thread for general discussions about the Performance with Performance Upgrade. I'm hoping the other threads will go back to covering their specific topics.

Feel free to discuss all things about the Performance with Performance Upgrade in this thread. Here are some similar threads that may be more relevant, depending on what you want to discuss.

Who's stuck waiting for Performance? - This thread is for everybody who has ordered a Performance, and is getting impatient, and must discuss that impatience. :)

Model 3 Performance without Performance Upgrade - For discussing the "base" Performance model. I wish Tesla had named these two Performance variants differently.

Performance Model 3 VINs - This was initially asking everyone's guess for the first Performance VIN. It's outlived that use now.

Also I hate to mention it again but when members want to post a new thread or a post we have a system called "Similar threads" at the bottom that will give you hints for existing threads you can use. We're trying to keep duplication down as best we can but it's also up to members to try their best and help keep things organized by either heeding the similar threads suggestion or

DO A SEARCH BEFORE you post!

Thanks

For those waiting on P3D+ with black interior, I received my pickup date this morning for 9/26 in Devon PA. No VIN yet. specialist said they weren't allowed to give it to me until its closer to pickup. 3/31 pre-reveal reservation, ordered 6/27. P3D+ DBM with black interior, and EAP.

Kind of curious about that. It sounds like everyone who ordered a P3D now has an delivery estimate of "By late September". If you had delivery scheduled today for a 9/26 delivery, that doesn't imply they've got a lot of wiggle room to get other deliveries booked before end of September.

I'm also on the east coast (Atlanta). P3D+, Red/White, FSD. Still no VIN, still no delivery advisor. But if they're actually going to get me the car by the end of September, I imagine something will have to change in the next 10 days or so.

Yep...I went from "By October" to "By Late Sept" back to "By October."

Reserved online 4/1/16, configured, ordered and uploaded all paperwork 6/27/18.
Not a previous owner, M3P, Red, 18" Aeros (I need the range), EAP+FSD, White Seats. Located in central CA.
Not a word yet...

On the discussion of PUP or not, I chose not. For me I plan on a fair amount of traveling long range. I would guess we would see at least a 10% difference in range PUP vs not, so that was #1 factor for me. if there were Aero covers for the 20" I would have gone for it.

Also a note on the value of the free supercharging: If you drive 16,000 miles per year, and half those are charged at a Supercharger, at the rate of about 4kWh per mile (300 mile range/75 kWh battery), then you will need 2000 kWh of Supercharging per year. At local rates of $0.20 per kWh, that's $400 per year of savings, or $3200 over an 8 year life. I was happy with my M3P choice before but even more so now! Do your own math and see what that is worth to you.

The only way I see anybody supercharging that much is if:
  • You live in an apartment (or otherwise can't install a charger), so supercharging is the most convenient charging method you have available.
  • You would rather spend 30 minutes supercharging for free each day instead of paying to charge your car overnight at home while you do other things, like sleep.
  • You have a job (like sales) that involves a LOT of driving in your personal vehicle.
But if you're in one of those situations, then yeah, it'll save a good bit of cash.

Mine changed back to Oct as well but I'm ok with that. Our cars will have the upgraded seats, suspension and any other components Tesla has silently improved. Early M3 owners where the beta testers, we are getting the best M3 Tesla can manufacture. So be patient fellas, our time will come and it will be worth the wait! :)

Very good way to look at it!
I wasn’t aware of the upgraded seats. What changed?
They got wider and more padding, this was a silent upgrade Tesla did without telling anyone. T Sportline had to change their seat covers because they no longer fit on the model 3 seats.

Now my delivery is changing as well. I was told it would be in Kansas City by 9/11.
Today, I received an email that my car is in a rail yard in California and not moving west yet.
It has to go to a rail yard in Chicago and then down to Kansas City.
My delivery specialist said he is inquiring as to why my car has not yet started its journey.
My Tesla Account currently shows:
"Estimated delivery by late September"
