Folks, you really have to prepare yourselves for a possible reality of having very limited options choices on Model 3, especially in the beginning. I know it's very easy to look at a Model S and assume we will get the same amount of options but really think we're looking at only the following:
2 battery pack sizes
6 exterior colours
2 interior colours
Glass roof standard (might no even have sunroof at all)
2 wheel designs
And that's it
AWD later in 2017 and performance variant in mid 2018. Over time they will surely play with options as they have with Model S but theyreve been very explicit about not having as many options and features on this car.
Hope I'm wrong on this for everyone's sake but I a feeling the production ramp is critical.
Lastly a couple of tidbits:
1. I was told this week from my reliable source that Model 3 is "drastically on time". He/she would not elaborate on what that meant.
2. Everything on the car was designed purposefully for the car. Shares no parts with Model S at all other than mirrors and autopilot hardware. Even the motors are completely new
Elon again confirmed something cool for those of us who reserved early on March 31
Just wonder what you mean by interior colors. Are you referring to the seats? The only option I really want is the vegan white seats because they are reportedly the most comfortable. Comfortable seats are primary to me.
I walk in, my Tesla representative politely asks, "How would you like your Model 3 sir, (a) Fully Equipped @ $55k or (b) just the Standard Equipment @ $35k?" Taking the (a) choice, I'm asked to pick my colors and perhaps a cold drink while we wait, or taking the (b) choice, I'm asked to make my payment, my black car with black interior will be waiting for delivery until my payment clears the bank.
I'm hoping for something in between........ Is it just me, or has this been the longest year imaginable since we plunked down our reservation money.
Any guesses as to when we'll see - and touch - the Model 3 in showrooms? Shouldn't it be sometime before initial deliveries, which means it could be less than a month away?

The doubters are changing their tune about Tesla being able to actually deliver on time with Model 3. I tell you, these idiots and the shorters are going to be eating crow this time around... Oh and how they will conveniently forget they ever said anything negative based on past experience.
From what I have read the stock is not really moving on Model 3 orders, delivery timing or anything else related to the model 3. It's more about analysts thinking that the companies multiple for everything else they do, of course including cars should be higher as their rev's 2020+ and beyond should be higher in those areas.
disclaimer: I'm out, sold at 366$ (220$ entry - latest round, many 75 to 150, 180 to 250 transactions)
