Honestly, Musk's timeline for the Model Y unveil is further away than I expected. And well further than last guidance, if I remember correctly.

He was joking. First rule about Elon is never trust his timelines.

I feel Model Y will be shown later this year

Does anyone recall the timeline from when the Model 3 prototype was in the works before the March 31, 2016 reveal? Maybe it will give us a clue to the Model Y’s reveal date.

It seems that Elon’s tweet about the prototype approval for production hints at a reveal that is coming soon, possibly this year as already mentioned above.

I'm going to be paying for college for the next 8 years, so I think the 3 will be my last new car until at least 2026.

Kids. Sure, they're so cute when they're new. Why can't you lease them?
But aren't they a lease? You pay for them, nurture them, and in the end you're left with memories of all the good times while someone else takes on ownership (marriage) later down the line.
