Aside from my main job, I have a few other businesses on the side. One of them makes custom silicone/TPU items like cell phone cases, tennis racquet vibration dampeners, business card stands, etc.

I want to gauge interest on a thin holder for the keycard. I envision something that wouldn't add too much thickness to the card but have a loop or something for valets to attach their tags. As it is now, giving them a keycard doesn't fit into their regular key tracking system which typically is a pegboard where they hang keys.

As I understand it, the keycard is the same size as a credit card but slightly thinner? Can any current owner confirm this?

Here you go @Brokedoc, luckily at my work there are some decent Starrett calipers I can borrow/utilize in random situations.
.030-.031” thick. I measure my bank card and it was about .033-.034”

EDIT: the length and width are identical to typical credit cards.

@Brokedoc I'm just planning to punch a hole in the card, less bulk/nothing extra to carry around. I saw somewhere a picture of one of these cards with a hole in the upper left corner (and the owner saying it still worked). I figure worse case I have to sacrifice a card or two to get it right. I imagine there will be a lot of people who'll want to do the same once pictures/video tutorials are common. So that may eat into your interested market a bit.

I will never valet my car ever, but I have wanted a solution for my spare backup key. We generally keep our keys in the laundry room for quick access but I stopped doing that as the backup key is now in my wallet.

In my case, I no longer carry keys so I wouldn’t want to make the keycard bulkier as it would then no longer fit in my wallet.

I totally get it that it's super convenient to just keep an extra card in the wallet without extra bulk but I tend to valet at least once or twice per week (Public parking can be really bad in NY). I'm just trying to think of a simple, inexpensive solution. Probably would be less than $1-$2.

I really wouldn't like to punch holes because then you would have to add the ring and remove the ring constantly and scratch up the card. It wouldn't be possible to keep the card in the wallet with the ring still in the hole. I have an idea I'm working out in my head right now....

Tread lightly, my friend. These type of cards are not meant to have holes punched in them. There is an antenna and circuitry inside.

I bought this one for $1.30 off of ebay and added the Tesla stickers to match the color of my car. View attachment 6707
I am thinking of something similar but will still allow the card to be inserted into most wallets AND the ring will not get in the way.

Alas, the Tesla logo is trademarked and cannot be used without permission.

Brokedoc, I'm interested. Being a die-hard Windows phone user, I would like a good way to carry the card. Other choice is to get a dinky Android phone of some sort to use as a Bluetooth device only. Dumb idea.

Given that Tesla doesn’t make a product like that you may be able to get permission...?

Since they are so cheap I am going to get an extra one and see how much of the card I can cut away and have it still work. would be cool to embed it into something easier to carry like a poker chip or a usb flash drive that could live on a keychain.

FWIW, I just keep one of these in the center console and if I need to hand off the card to someone, I slip it there to keep their grubby hands off it! Else it stays in my wallet as my phone has been surgically attached to meo_O
Plus these are super cheap and available all over

Rather than cutting it away, consider placing it in an oven and melting away the plastic. Then you should be left with just the electronics, which you can then place into something else.

One idea: put them into a little Tesla matchbox car, and use it as your key. :)

Has anyone xray'd the card to see what is really inside it? I know that the HID cards we use for work access are also available in a very small key-fob. They cost more so companies don't often offer them but they work find. I bet the amount of electronics in that key-card is pretty small. And depending on the technology we migth be able to do something as cool as putting it into a Matchbox car or a 3-d printed one.

I looked into this a bit more (that is, I did a quick Google search for "melt nfc card") and found several sources that say you should use acetone (aka nail polish remover) to dissolve the plastic:
