is there a way to lock the charge port closed? When I'm washing the car it pops open when the mitt scoots over it. I know enough to let it close on its own, but my kids have a real desire to push it closed. Outside of smarter more obedient kids, preventing the charge port opening in the first place avoids little hands from pushing it closed.

would also be nice to not have to avoid that corner with water until it closes on it's own. All around I just don't need it opening when I'm washing the car.

It opens on me once in a while like that. You could lock it and leave the phone out of reach. It isn't the end of the world if they push it and close it manually, I don't have a problem doing that on occasion, it's meant to close that way, or I assume it is, nothing says don't.

This is why I highly recommend waxing your car once a year. If you're opening it with a mitt while washing it, you're pushing too hard on the car. Get a pressure washer and foam gun so that you can do a proper 2 bucket wash. If you've sprayed the car down before using a soapy mitt you don't need to apply any pressure to the mitt. Just drag it across and that's plenty of pressure if you're using a microfiber mitt.

i have a foam cannon. i have a pressure washer - those two are the only things that get me washing the car. I have PPF on the front and ceramic on the rest. all good.

i don't think i'm pushing at all, but i could likely give a lighter touch with the mitt.

my 6 year old? she is more enthusiastic than I. and way too cute in the rubber boots and a wash mitt to ban from car washing :)

This reminds me of the problem we had with the dog helping himself to the pizza on the kitchen table. A total toss up on whether it is easier to train the kids not to leave the pizza there or whether to train the dog not to go for it. Frankly we never succeeded at either.
