Welcome, @michiganM3 ! There are already a few other members from your state (@KennethK being one of them - sorry if I don't remember all the others...)

That will be useful for y'all to determine who will be the first to defy Motown! ;)

I reserved my Model 3 on the Internet just prior to the unveiling 03/31/16. And yes, we have many challenges in Michigan, thanks to GM and the dealers association. Hopefully Tesla will eventually prevail in their legal action. In the meantime Tesla continues to add SC locations around the State making travel that much easier for us. I'm located in Charlotte just south of Lansing.

I'm closer to the Cleveland store, so I'll probably go there for the delivery, unless Tesla opens up a delivery center on the border of Michigan and Ohio to improve things (this is just me saying this). I reserved about the same time as you, so my "first production" estimate is Dec 2017- Feb 2018".

Tesla opened a supercharger in Marshal Michigan last month! like you said and more to come.

Saginaw boy living in Texas now but was just "home" last week. From what I can see there aren't many charging options north of Bay City unless you head to Cadillac or Ludington. Any thoughts as to how to take a trip up north? A trip to the Soo would give me a whole Tums bottle worth of range anxiety.

It is a desert in the UP as far as high speed chargers. If you were to stay somewhere overnight, you could probably plug in.

Furthest north seem to be Grayling and Traverse Ciy. Both showing as planned. As I recall, Traverse City is under construction. Nothing in UP or the east side north of Port Huron. I'm hoping that there may be at least a destination charger or two somewhere maybe from Tawas to Alpena. We love to go to this area.

Welcome to the club.

@KennethK is probably the first member here from Michigan. I like the fact that we all booked right about the same time. I reserved mine just minutes before the web booking went online too.

What convinced you guys to go with First Production and not AWD just curious. because I am having a tough time deciding whether to wait for AWD or go with RWD.

The extra cost of the AWD plus $3750 less on the Federal Tax incentive is swaying me to RWD. Plus, I want one soon! :p

I too don't want to wait for AWD. Being retired, I'm not sure I want to spend more. Also I have a brother in law who has a Model S in the Chicago area. He has been quite happy with how it handles winter driving.

Thanks everyone, I received emails for the first post, but not for the rest. I hope Tesla opens a service center in Windsor, so I can just cross the border in case I need service. That would be closer then Cleveland.

Good to see other owners from michigan. I live in Grand Rapids and expected delivery for the base model is April-June2018. I reserved on April 1 before noon. I think I will buy the RWD, so its sooner, cheaper and possible higher Fed. Tax incentive

I am hoping it would be in Toledo, so I dont have to drive to Chicago. Otherwise it is going to be in Chicago for me.

I reserved on 3/31 and am getting the standard battery Feb-Apr. I'm in Royal Oak.
Hi Steve- Has your standard battery dates been pushed further than the initial Feb-March ? Keep us posted if you end up getting your Model 3. If you want to bring us upto speed on the delivery timelines that would be great.

I currently have a BMW leased and is set to expire March 31. I show my standard battery is due Mid 2018. So not sure how long of a stop gap solution I might need :)
