So the poll is simple. What do you think? I haven't seen a single RC car nor production car with a front license plate holder so that's a good sign.

On Model S, we were told at the dealer when taking delivery on my dad's car that they're pre-installed because the car passed crashed testing with it on and while you can remove it on your own Tesla cannot and will not.

Now the good news -- it's not drilled through the painted bumper.

The bad news -- the adhesive is so strong that you still run the risk of a scratch or dent in the removal process.

So Model 3, what do you think? Pre-installed or packed up and placed in the frunk or trunk?

I was ignorantly only thinking North America, but you are welcome to play :)
I know, yet I think they may make it factory built for certain markets only therefore I don't want to skew the votes...
If only we did not have to show front license plates!!

On the Model S it came from the factory already installed (so they said).
Not originally.

However, I seriously doubt that Tesla will deliver the cars unmarried (like the old days) they preinstalled front license plates on new fascia (and X, and the 3 fascia follows that design aesthetic so I would be the dissenting opinion and say you'll have to remove it yourself.

In the only days, they had you sign a piece of paper saying that you will install the front license plate now they just have you remove it yourself.

As for RC and the like not having them. That's marketing.

I would say Elon's SN1 doesn't have a front plate as well, but then again it also doesn't have badging so that could very well be intentional.

I have a feeling that you're right and thus removal has been added to my day 1 tasks. I can't take a joyride and stop for pictures with that holder on ;)

all the Tesla car carriers with Ss/Xs I've seen lately have had the front plate bracket installed (but if they are installing at the factory based on delivery location - OR and WA both require them, so.....)

Tricky one for most Europeans... Standards will differ by region... ;)
Don't think so. Front plates are obligatory in all European countries. There is only a difference in size (smaller) for Switserland and Italy. European format differs from the US size, being wider and less high.
I'm convinced that for all European deliveries the appropriate front holder will be installed.
Which is not 'ugh!', but like we're used to.

I live in a "front plate state" (California). It's a "softly enforced law," mostly by meter maids when parking in revenue-aggressive cities like Berkeley and San Francisco. Probably 90% of cars have a front plate, even though they are all supposed to. Lack of front plate seems to be common on Mercedes coupes, Jaguars, and (for some reason) Jeeps.

At first I was thinking I wouldn't mount the front plate, or that I'd get a magnetic mount for times when I parked downtown. But then I decided I was being a little too precious about the whole thing, so I'll just put a plate on it. In reality, you don't "see" front plates, or at least the shape of the car is not messed up by them. They become invisible to some extent. And it's just a car...
