Hey guys,

Is it safe to say that if a site is listed as having a destination charger with a Tesla connector on the Tesla site that I don’t need to bring my UMC? In this case specifically Ocean Resort in Atlantic City? I talked to them and was not sure they knew for sure.

Thanks all!

I do believe you are safe to say that. It seems to become a official destination charging location, you have to install a wall charger (and it almost sounds like Tesla provides some/all of the equipment as long as the place doesn't charge the end user).
LINK <--more info here

Charging Partners

Attract Tesla Drivers to your property by joining the Destination Charging network. Qualified properties will receive personalized assistance with installation and appropriate charging hardware. In addition, they will benefit from visibility in the charging maps on the Tesla website and in-vehicle navigation.

EDIT: In reading it again, I think it just means they provide "personalized assistance" with installation and with PICKING charging hardware. Probably not providing it to the places. But I'm OT here...

If it has a destination charger, then a destination charger will have a Tesla connector.

But just because it has a destination charger doesn't mean that it will be available or working. Someone else may be plugged into during your entire stay. At least the J-1772 adapter may give you alternatives. But I have two UMCs, one that stays plugged in at home and one in the car. They are always just there.

Rule #1 of EV ownership: never rely on destination charging. It's often occupied or out of commission.

Always have a backup plan. That could simply mean making sure there's a supercharger in the area that you can use if needed. Or a few more nearby locations with destination charging available. Or it means taking your UMC with you just in case all you can find is an outlet.

Thanks all their is a supercharger a few miles away as well, but I will likely pack the umc as well. Need to get a wall charger for the house so I can just keep the umc in the car :)

I don't think I'd ever leave very far from home without the UMC, especially on a road trip. You never know when something is out of service, or as noted, occupied. If all else totally fails and you are in a pinch you can at least always find a 120. It's not much but it beats pushing or towing if possible. A lot of camp grounds and other things with 240 plugs you can find too.

I don't bother keeping it in the car day-to-day, but I always take it with me on road trips (along with one of my winter wheels/tires for a spare, and a jack, air compressor, tire patch kit...). There are just too many unknowns, and I like to be somewhat prepared.

Pretty cool I pulled into the valet and did not even need to ask, he offered to charge my car, just checked my app and indeed I am charging :). Thanks again all.
