Congrats!
This goes along with what I expected. They're squeezing all the deliveries in the last week to fluff their final week of the quarter "production" numbers.
Nope, fake news! In Tesla's defense, they wanted to schedule ASAP, but I asked for 12/27 because of the upcoming holidays. All they had left was 6:30 PM, which was too late for me, so I asked for 12/26 at 6:30 PM instead and they accommodated me.
Once my car arrives there is nothing getting in my way of the car. Delivery can take 5 seconds for all I care... I'll just let them know if I see any paint defects/dents. Otherwise key card and I'm out.
Be sure to bring a friend if you can but spend most of your time with a checklist and go over every inch of the car and note any defects. Tesla will fix then for you. I know it’s tempting to just drive off but take your time. Learning about the cars features I find is best done on your own time. Think of it as an Easter egg hunt!!

When you say bring a checklist, I assume you mean items like paint, glass, fit, finish, that sort of thing? Or, perhaps you did it by area...driver's side front quarter panel, passenger side rear door, etc. How did you set up your checklist?
Yeah, Tesla reached out to me again late yesterday and said that I could take delivery tomorrow, if I wanted, but there's no way I can squeeze that in before Christmas eve at this point.
Just because I know everyone is curious about the process. I financed through my own bank, my DS asked if I had a cashiers check. I told him I thought I did and described it. He said to scan and email it to him so that he could verify. I did, and I guess I paid for the car somehow through that process because I woke up this morning and my account says that the car is paid for:

Congrats @Bokonon ! Looks like Santa is saving his biggest gift for last...
Of course he was probably tempted to take it for a spin, don't be surprised if it already has a couple million miles on it!
Dude, you're messing with me! I was driving a Model 3 in my dreams last night, and now you're starting to make me wonder whether it was real... in which case I desperately need to study for that calculus final!
This just reinforces the hypothesis that Tesla has been holding many of these the last few weeks for significant software updates. Hold to the very end of the quarter so they still count but get the latest software.
In 17 months with my Model S I have only re-booted maybe 7-8 times. Sure the 3 may still need TLC with the tech but I don't see it as an issue. And yes it can be done while driving. The first time I tried that I was 100 feet from home
Just confirmed my delivery for 12/31 in Marina del Rey! When I asked how long delivery would take, the specialist said 30 minutes (there is no amount of time stated in my confirmation email). He said that I'm welcome to let the delivery specialist know I want out of there as quickly as possible, in which case I can schedule a walk-through appointment for later, if desired.
Can you share the timeline? When did you get the configurator? When did you configure? How long after that to get the VIN and then how long to get the appointment?
Yes, I completed the application in the order flow, immediately after configuring the vehicle. I don't believe Tesla has a financing arm, but a Tesla "Regional Credit Analyst" sent me an email the following day with the financing terms, which indicated the lender is Chase.
Great to know enjoy the car and can’t wait to get mine.
I am Jan-March hope to get it no later than March 22nd have a Florida trip don’t want to buy anymore gas!!!
Come on Tesla start the line a moving!
Cool. I may need to try them out too then when my time comes. I'll probably still put a deposit on it anyway but it would be nice to have the option of not doing it if I wanted.
