I asked for 12/27, but the time slot was too late, so I asked if we could do it late 12/26. Not ideal, but I'll make it work!

Congrats!
This goes along with what I expected. They're squeezing all the deliveries in the last week to fluff their final week of the quarter "production" numbers.

Nope, fake news! In Tesla's defense, they wanted to schedule ASAP, but I asked for 12/27 because of the upcoming holidays. All they had left was 6:30 PM, which was too late for me, so I asked for 12/26 at 6:30 PM instead and they accommodated me.

Interesting ... plan on 60-90 minutes. I remember when back when they talked about aiming to get that down to 5-10 minutes.

At 90 minutes per — unless this is done in a group this could become a bottleneck with volume production.

Once my car arrives there is nothing getting in my way of the car. Delivery can take 5 seconds for all I care... I'll just let them know if I see any paint defects/dents. Otherwise key card and I'm out.

Congratulations!!!

Be sure to bring a friend if you can but spend most of your time with a checklist and go over every inch of the car and note any defects. Tesla will fix then for you. I know it’s tempting to just drive off but take your time. Learning about the cars features I find is best done on your own time. Think of it as an Easter egg hunt!!

Your life will never be same with a Tesla!! Enjoy

@TrevP

When you say bring a checklist, I assume you mean items like paint, glass, fit, finish, that sort of thing? Or, perhaps you did it by area...driver's side front quarter panel, passenger side rear door, etc. How did you set up your checklist?

Yeah, Tesla reached out to me again late yesterday and said that I could take delivery tomorrow, if I wanted, but there's no way I can squeeze that in before Christmas eve at this point.

Just because I know everyone is curious about the process. I financed through my own bank, my DS asked if I had a cashiers check. I told him I thought I did and described it. He said to scan and email it to him so that he could verify. I did, and I guess I paid for the car somehow through that process because I woke up this morning and my account says that the car is paid for:

Dude, you're messing with me! I was driving a Model 3 in my dreams last night, and now you're starting to make me wonder whether it was real... in which case I desperately need to study for that calculus final!

$60k above the line before applying prior payments. You pay taxes on the full cost of the car.

Rebooting the computer while driving seems like a necessity for when you're trapped on the road and can't pull over.

Nice! I think you took must have taken the spot I was in. I ended up having to push mine back to 12/27.

Just confirmed my delivery for 12/31 in Marina del Rey! When I asked how long delivery would take, the specialist said 30 minutes (there is no amount of time stated in my confirmation email). He said that I'm welcome to let the delivery specialist know I want out of there as quickly as possible, in which case I can schedule a walk-through appointment for later, if desired.

I applied through Alliant and they offered me 2.74% for 60 months, 2.99% for 72 months or 3.74% for 84 months.

Cool. I may need to try them out too then when my time comes. I'll probably still put a deposit on it anyway but it would be nice to have the option of not doing it if I wanted.
