As the You-You show and tell trip continues, it is obvious that for driving in cold climates, "preheating the car before departure and/or increasing cabin heat" is NOT the correct solution in cold climates.

Especially on long distance driving.

We have a feels like of 29F in South Florida right now. Not our usual 80F :)

I think I’ll use my heated steering wheel (Hyundai Sonata) for the second time ever while I have it!

EDIT: wow it was actually very nice! I realize why you guys in cold climates want this so much now.

On long drives the heated wheel feels great even on warm days.

I did see a headline a day or so ago that there are daytime high temps in AK higher than some in FL

Heated steering wheel will definitely be something I'll miss dearly in the Model 3. I use it just about every day during the winter in my current vehicle. I'll also really miss a sunroof, which I also use almost every day during spring/fall and some days in summer.

I think I remember seeing a post many months ago that the Premium Upgrade included heated seats and steering wheel. Can we still expect the heated steering wheel in an OTA update soon?

heated steering wheel has never been mentioned as part of the Premium package by Tesla, just wished/assumed/rumored by individuals.

This really NEEDS to happen Tesla, you're better than this! ;)

I use my heated steering wheel (15' Chrysler 300S - Sticker MSRP $45K) way more than I do the heated seats, and especially more than my rear heated seats (which are now enabled on the 3).

I'll trade seats any day for a toasty wheel!

Found an article... and this is from 2015, listing the 10 CHEAPEST cars with heated steering wheels. Brace yourselves.... :(

    • Kia Optima EX w/premium package: $28,515
    • Dodge Journey FWD SXT Plus with Popular Equipment Group: $28,440
    • Dodge Challenger SXT with cold-weather package: $28,385
    • Buick Verano w/leather group: $27,975
    • Chrysler 200 Limited with convenience group: $26,795 - DISCONTINUED
    • Jeep Cherokee FWD Sport with cold weather package: $24,785
    • Kia Soul + w/Primo Package: $24,515
    • Kia Forte and Forte5 EX with Premium Package: $23,215
    • Kia Forte Koup EX w/Premium Package: $23,215
    • Dodge Dart GT: $22,290 - DISCONTINUED

We could really use a "Sad Face" rating for posts like this. :(

Elon, I need heated steering wheel too. I have bad blood circulation in my hands. Gloves don't help much because they do not produce heat. Plus, heated steering uses A LOT less energy than heating the cabin. It just make so much sense. Heated steering is the only thing holding me from changing my reservation to an order.
M3 with PUP is 60k+$ in Canada. Cars half that price have that option.
