Saturday morning was another simi truck vs Model S wreck, that in all likelihood would not have ended as well in a lesser vehicle. This one in Newark, DE. The simi ran a red light and impacted a Model S. Both truck driver and Tesla driver were taken to the hospital - the Tesla driver for heart related observations, not physical injuries from the wreck.
Based on the photos, it is pretty amazing and telling of Tesla's safety.
And for all those questioning the distance the FL tesla traveled after impact, notice the distance this truck continued on and off the pavement after the wreck. Pretty similar.

Brief news video from local ABC channel

The site of the wreck is 4 ½ miles to a Supercharger location

It's reassuring to see how well the cabins of these vehicles survive. And all those airbags…

I'm wondering if these folks losing Teslas to accidents are purchasing Tesla replacements.

Seems like they are. I've seen a lot of people in wrecked Teslas saying they've already ordered another while waiting for the insurance.

SAFEST. CAR. EVER.

This is what happens when you design a vehicle properly. GM, are you paying attention?

My Model S was totaled by someone who ran a red light too. Soon after the accident, I ordered another Model S without hesitation.
