Are those long enough to secure the wheels (looks like they are)? For some reason, I thought I read that the length of the bolts were longer and required longer nuts

I'm not generally a fan of chrome and the idea of cheap black plastic covers on my lug nuts wasn't appealing either. I ended up finding this bargain on some Gorilla lug nuts. You actually get enough for two model 3's! As a bonus the Aero covers still fit over top of these if you ever want to put the aero covers back on.

The OEM open ended nuts are only about 3/4" long and the studs don't even protrude thru them. Not sure where you got the idea that we needed longer nuts. The important thing is that there is equal surface on the 60 deg cone to hold the wheel on. These nuts actually have more than the OEM and are almost too much. The first lug nuts I got had a fraction of this surface area. I probably would have had a high likelihood of having problems down the road if I had tried to use them.
