Anyone know where the charging port is? From the pictures I've seen of the prototypes, it does not appear to be in a similar location as the S.
This extension cable has enough beef to handle 50Amps if you want to extend the UMC.

The cord is pretty long and you can get extensions. That or install it in the roof. I have to back into my garage every day to charge as the wall os on the right side (as you're facing in). I thought it would be a pain but with the camera and sensors its no big deal.
I've got a two car garage, ceiling mounting the charge cable enables me to park forwards backwards left and right.
Nothing fancy needed just a bungee cord to keep it at an edge.I have to build a new garage for the Tesla and I was considering a ceiling mount.
However, then I thought that unless you install a very clever contraption, there is a potential danger of dropping the charger onto the car.
After waiting 2-3 years for the new car, I could not live with myself or anyone else who scratched the car in this way...

Are you putting solarPV as a roof on your new garage? There's another thread on solar with an Australian bent.

Sounds very interesting. Would it be possible for you to post a picture when you get a chance?I've got a two car garage, ceiling mounting the charge cable enables me to park forwards backwards left and right.
Very interesting! This has been done already. Check out this clever hack:

Although this is what I initially thought of as a desirable arrangement, I would now hesitate to implement this.
One day you accidentally yank the cable as you shift a broom, rake or ladder in your garage and down comes the charger onto my "Precious".
Maybe I am just too clumsy, but I do not think that this solution works for me.
