I placed my reservation the night of the unveiling from CA, the better half (northern). Do you guesstimate I'll get the base model 3 (no upgrades:( before the other states, or are they gonna deliver upgraded 3's to all of west coast first, then deliver base 3's to CA?

Billy, if you log in to your MyTesla account you will see a link on the right hand side for delivery estimate. From there you will see your 3 month range on the standard battery configuration.

It appears that Tesla's plan is to get the production line ramped up completely while producing just the First Production configuration. Once the production line is up-to-speed, then it sounds like they'll start to make some additional options available.

Given that, and the date estimates that I've seen from various peoples' accounts, it looks like even people in eastern USA will probably get First Production configurations before Tesla will start delivering Standard Battery models to employees.

But yes, log into your account and see what estimates Tesla gives you.

Yeah I know Elon said he's going to sell upgraded models first to take care of its shareholders unfortunately, I was just hoping that they're going to fill all orders from West Coast to East Coast, but that's not the case thanks for the heads up.

You can get people and websites to give you very precise estimates, down to the day even. But no one other than Tesla has the information needed to be accurate.
That doesn't mean that we can't speculate on how various bits of news (like building 260 Model 3's in Q3 rather than the expected 1500) might affect Tesla's estimates, before they're willing to update them.

The only thing that hasn't been mentioned specifically in this thread that is "real" information is Tesla's estimate that they will start standard battery production in November.

I have 2 months of delay from my "LR" to my "standard estimate. Makes sense that production start would be delayed that much as well.

But to the original questions, I would imagine that the vehicles with standard batteries produced in November are not going to sit around for months - they will likely begin delivering those immediately, i.e. November/December, to people at top of the list (employees>owners>california 3/31 in-person reservations).

Another way to think about it - I have an in person reservation from the west coast on 3/31 and my long-range estimate is "November-Jan". If they actually produce these standard vehicles starting in November, they will get delivered before I or someone with similar priority gets their long range one in January.

Of course, they could also not begin production in November as planned. This post assumes they do that...
