Now that the Model 3 is shipping to Europe, I would assume the car has been outfitted with the required convex (rounded) side view mirror. Can these mirrors be purchased yet as a part, either directly through Tesla or through a 3rd party, so it could be installed on a US version of the car. I have found these mirrors vastly superior from a visibility perspective compared to the planar version in the US.

Thanks!

I bet they can be purchased (just like the other non- USDM spec parts such as taillights, fog/turn signal assemblies, etc).

However, Tesla seems to make it nearly impossible to buy non-region-specific parts in another region, even when armed with a matching VIN.

Try to get a hold of a Europe or Asia-bound Model 3 VIN and give Tesla a call, see if you can order the mirror insert.

Look at your passengers side mirror with the annoying legalize CYA 'objects are closer than they appear' wording... similar to plastic bags labeled with 'this is not a toy' or coffee cups 'contents may be hot'.

I’d be interested to know if Model 3’s being sold in Europe are fitted with aspheric mirrors. I don’t mean convex mirrors but, instead, mirrors that have two sections: the larger (and inner) which is angled as normal, with the smaller (outer) which is angled out to reveal the blind spot. Virtually all European cars sold in Europe have them and I’ve always found them to be extremely useful (once you get used to them).

I sadly doubt it.

At best, the useless US spec driver side mirror, is replaced with one matching the passenger side (minus the 'objects are closer than they appear' CYA leglese used in United States, Canada, Nepal, India and Saudi Arabia. ).

Curious as well. I have aspherical mirrors on my GTI and love them! One of my favorite mods for sure.

If I had to replace my side mirror glass, I would order these wide angle convex mirrors from Suma Performance https://www.sumaperformance.com/collections/tesla/products/model-3

There's a video on Youtube of the replacement for the Tesla Model S, but the Model 3 process is the same way
I'm not really a fan of the blue tint but I would buy these in a heartbeat if they looked normal. still curious if the European model 3s ship with them as I have heard it is a requirement there.

I didn't like the bluish tint either, but someone on the forums says that they have these Suma Performance mirrors for their Model S and the bluish tint is exaggerated by the camera and isn't as visible in person. So I actually ordered a set for my Model 3. They are backordered, so who knows when I'll get them.

I bought these even though I have no issues with blind spots with the OEM North American mirrors. I just figured they might be worth the extra piece of mind especially when other people drive my car. I do hope it doesn't take a lot to adjust to the wider angle, because I'm definitely not used to that.

In fact, European side mirrors are aspherical on both sides. Have always fitted them on all cars I owned. Wondering how to do the same with the Tesla now.

Received mine yesterday. Took 5 mins for each side to install. Great product. Really nice improvement to OEM. Blue color not an issue.
Did you install the mirror direction arrows, connecting it to the front fender direction signal light?

Info on that at other forum. The turn signal arrows are fairly tacky and not worth the effort. Better off purchasing the mirrors with defroster only.
Thanks for the advice. I do prefer the direction arrows. I believe it adds a bit of safety. Halving said that, do any of you know how to connect it up?
