Some questions about the operation of the BlackVue 750 dashcam.

1) What is the Event recording threshold? I see some recordings marked as Event, but they seem like Normal recordings to me. What is the threshold for these Events?

2) What is the best way to view these recordings without having to take the memory card out? I have tried direct WiFi connection, but it is slow and disconnects often. I have also tried Cloud viewing, but it is also slow, and it has a bandwidth cap.

It's adjustable in configuration settings.

Use the wifi connection to first download a recording to your phone. I agree that the wifi signal is pretty crappy, so it takes a little while. Once it's downloaded, it's much easier to watch.

I forgot where I got this from originally. But for example, if I want to download the event recordings. I would schedule my synology nas to run this xxx.sh script.

#!/bin/bash
cd "$(dirname "$0")"
for file in `curl http://192.168.2.200/blackvue_vod.cgi | sed 's/^n://' | sed 's/EF.mp4//' | sed 's/ER.mp4//' | sed 's/,s:1000000//' | sed $'s/\r//'`; do wget -c http://192.168.2.200$file\EF.mp4; wget -c http://192.168.2.200$file\ER.mp4; wget -nc http://192.168.2.200$file\EF.thm; wget -nc http://192.168.2.200$file\ER.thm; wget -nc http://192.168.2.200$file\E.gps; wget -nc http://192.168.2.200$file\E.3gf; done

192.168.2.200 is the static address of my Blackvue locally.

Wait a minute....

Are you saying that it's possible to have the blackvue connect to a wifi AP as a client? I thought it could only act like an AP?

Cloud - Client (you can give it an up reservation to keep its up static)
WiFi - It’s built in AP
Internal Memory - Internal memory

How do you Time it? If I get home at 6pm, should I schedule it shortly thereafter? Or can I schedule it later in case I’m not home yet. Will the BlackVue be on, or can I wake it?

My blackvue is on all the time so I just do it over-night.

If your blackvue does not have constant power, I'm not sure how I would time it because I dont know how quickly the power cuts off
How did you tap constant power for the dashcam in a Model3 without throwing 12V battery errors?

I'm not good with linux or scripting. Any help?

[/bin] # bash
[admin@QNAS bin]# /share/Qnap/Ferdie/Blackvue/blackvue.sh
bash: /share/Qnap/Ferdie/Blackvue/blackvue.sh: Permission denied
[admin@QNAS bin]# su -
bash: su: command not found

Thanks, got it to work. I'm kicking it off manually from my imac, but it works. Would you know of how to restrict it to todays date only? I have a 128GB card, and it downloads the same 5 days each time.

Try this:

#!/bin/bash
cd "$(dirname "$0")"
export BVDATE=`date +%Y%m%d`
echo $BVDATE
for file in `curl http://192.168.1.53/blackvue_vod.cgi | sed 's/^n://' | sed 's/F.mp4//' | sed 's/R.mp4//' | sed 's/,s:1000000//' | sed $'s/\r//' | grep $BVDATE`; do wget -c http://192.168.1.53$file\F.mp4; wget -c http://192.168.1.53$file\R.mp4; wget -nc http://192.168.1.53$file\F.thm; wget -nc http://192.168.1.53$file\R.thm; wget -nc http://192.168.1.53$file.gps; wget -nc http://192.168.1.53$file.3gf; done

BUT what if you're not home for a few days like gone for a weekend? If you're downloading too much then just schedule the download to happen every fews days rather than just specifically download today...

Yes, but if an event happened today, I wouldn’t want to wait a few days to get it. So, I would prefer a single days download. Can I manually put in a date?

Anyone having issues with windshield glare with the 750s? I have an essentially whited-out recording on even partly-cloudy days. No problem at night. I tried to reduce the brightness without any improvement.
