Did anyone go to the reveal?
If you did, I was wondering 2 things.
1. Everyone was making a fuss about the AC vents. Was it needed that evening and if so were you comfortable during the test? With all those bodies it could be warm.
2. The cup holders in the center console look to have removable covers or push in to use. Any idea on those? Might not hold a SUPER BIG GULP. Ha!

I noticed in one of the test rides that the cup holder openings were open whereas in the reveal walk-through they were closed. So obviously they are operational and not just placeholders. How they open however is not known.

We know nothing about the vents at this point other than Tesla has designed a new system has has "slots" (as mentioned by Doug Field) instead of traditional louvered vents. We will most likely have to wait until next year at the second reveal to get any more details on this during test rides for the press and attendees.

There's a slight chance I might be able to get more information from an indirect source but I can't promise anything...

That would be great. Little details leaking out can only help keep people interested

I'd love to see a pic of the open cupholders. Cupholders are an obsession of mine (and the default ones in the S suck).

I hope that they have plenty of USB charging options. In looking at the model SYouTube videos available it looks like they have a phone dock and one USB port.

You can always add a hub if the one port is in a good place. In the S there aren't any ports for the rear passengers so I have one line dedicated to running back there for when the kid inevitably doesn't charge her phone.

TL,

Have you seen these? Especially like the Carbon Fiber wrapped one.

Ski
Yes. I have the Evannex CCI in my car. I was originally going to get the Tesla Console but I waited 16 months for it and they ended up not making it (to match my interior). Carbon Fiber or Glossy black don't fit well with my cars interior (tan leather, obeche matte wood). I've been very happy with the Evannex CCI.

The thing I was surprised about was on the Model X they kept the cupholders in the armrests. They now include a console on both Model X and Model S by default (finally gave in to overwhelming customer opinion there) so they don't need those cupholders. Also the height and placement of those armrests in both the S and X is terrible.

Back to the 3, I was excited to see a newer design for the armrests which looks a lot more comfortable and functional than those in the S and X.
